Sacred the Place of Prayer and Song

1. Sacred the place of pray’r and song, The house of sacrament, How sweet to view the peaceful throng, So silent and content! Each come to taste the power from above, The inspiration, and the glow Of holy love.

2. Father, do thou but touch each heart With pure and good desire. Freely do thou to us impart, Thy holy spirit’s fire. Then shall we know our sins have been forgiv’n. The covenants we make with thee Are seal’d in heav’n.
