The Opening Buds of Springtime

1. The opening buds of springtime, When birds so sweetly sing, Invite our tuneful voices, To praise the mighty King. Expanded flow’rs in summer, With fruits and fields of grain, Call for our hearts’ thanksgiving In music’s joyous strain.

2. The autumn’s varied colors, The garnered gifts of heav’n, Proclaim that for his bounty, Our praises should be giv’n. When winter spreads its mantle Of snowy crystals rare, Our gratitude we render For his protecting care.

3. Life’s full of grace and blessings From out his lib’ral hand; Then praise Jehovah ever, Ye Saints in ev’ry land.
