As a Little Child
As a Little Child
1. As a little child relies
On a care beyond its own,
Knows beneath its father’s eyes,
It is never left alone,
2. So let me, a child, receive
What today thou shalt provide.
Calmly to thy wisdom leave
What tomorrow may betide.
3. Quiet Lord, my froward heart,
Make me loving meek, and mild,
Upright, simple, free from art,
Make me as a little child.
