Lyrics Project
Volunteers are needed to read lyrics from scanned sheet music and type them into a plain text format. Your contribution to this project will:
- Add lyrics to the SingPraises.net database that anyone can print, share, or sing along with.
- Make songs searchable by words and phrases in the lyrics.
- Enable historical research and comparison between multiple versions of a song.
Skills needed: Attention to detail; familiarity with how lyrics are presented in sheet music; fluency in the language of the source content; ability to accurately reproduce the source content, including original spelling, capitalization, and punctuation; ability to logically place line breaks to preserve poetic structure. For more precise typing, working on a desktop or laptop computer is recommended.
Volunteer agreement
Contribution to volunteer projects is voluntary. Volunteers who contribute do so freely, without expectation of monetary compensation or publicity. In exchange, after content has been reviewed and passes quality checks, SingPraises.net will make it publicly available online, free of charge for anyone to use, except where limited by copyright restrictions. SingPraises.net may use contributed content for any purpose.
Before contributing, you’ll need to accept the volunteer agreement on the Account Settings page.
